I had the privilege of chatting with Kaelyn Bullock, Tom Driscoll, David Fouch, and Liz Ramos about flipping history classes. We chatted about how we start our year with students, how we introduce flipped learning to parents, inquiry-based history class, and the one big change that we're making this year in our classrooms.
Some interesting commonalities popped up. People are planning to do the Marshmallow Challenge, showing the lone nut leadership video, and in the work of the Stanford History Education Group. I guess it's not a huge surprise when you've got a bunch of history teachers sharing best practices that there would be some commonalities - figured it'd be worth sharing and linking them here.

#flipclass and Google Tools
I got to chat with with Todd Nesloney and Jason Bretzmann about a week ago via the good old Google Hangout. We chatted about what Google tools we are utilizing in our flipped classrooms - Todd in his fifth grade class and me with ninth and tenth graders. Jason was running the conference, so he unfortunately didn't get a chance to share.

Inquiry-Based History Google Hangout
I got to do a Google hangout tonight with George Phillip, Kaelyn Bullock, and Michael Stafford tonight about inquiry based history classes. It was a thought-provoking conversation, and it was nice to 'meet' George and Michael. Enjoy the video below.
